It was an emotion-laden Sunday evening in Jos, Plateau State when a budding gospel singer, Abraham John Maisaje christened his first ever music after his late mother, Sabina.
The album which was launched at the ECWA Church headquarters in the capital city saw friends and well wishers of the Maisajes trooping out to honour the late Sabina whose son said he drew his inspiration from her humane disposition.
According to Engr. Tony Nakale a famous music producer and the CEO of the Evangel Arts of ECWA, the young man must put his mind off monies if he wants to succeed as a gospel artist.
He said gospel is for the propagation of christendom and a gospel artist will continue to receive God’s blessings because of the works that is intended to draw the people closer to the creator.
He encouraged him to be steadfast and focused as the reward at the end of the day was enormous.
A special guest of honour and former information commissioner in the state, Yiljab Abraham poured enconium on the youngster which he said, was the way to go especially that the world was in dire need of salvation.
He recalled how he had the onerous responsibility to calm the husband of the late Sabina and father of the singer; John, when she was rushed to the hospital and died eventually.
According to him, Abraham’s choice of a music label to reflect a caring mother was a welcome development and encouraged young people to emulate this display of love towards parents.
Also speaking, Prof. Shedrach Best; a onetime Secretary to the Plateau State Government who is also an uncle to the artist said he was at the event to encourage him and the entire family in their efforts to ensure their mother lives.
Husband of the deceased and father of the singer, John Maisaje said he was happy that his son found it necessary to remember his mother because of the strong bond they shared.
He said he almost discouraged his son from being a musician but for his insistence, he now has his blessings as a father.
Earlier, the young artist who is also a professional photographer said his mother was a blessing to him and his siblings, adding that he would do everything in his reach to remember her love and care; which is where he has received his growth in his chosen field.
