Olayinka Owolewa, of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), has emerged the Best Sports Reporter of 2019 in Kwara.
He was declared winner at the award ceremony of the Correspondents’ Chapel, NUJ Kwara State Council, held in Ilorin on Thursday.
The theme of the ceremony is: Reward for Excellence.
Owolewa beat another NAN correspondent, Mrs Bushrah Yusuf-Badmus to win the award.
African Independent Television (AIT), Kwara Correspondent, Olufemi Akobi, won the best reporter in the environment category, while Oluseyi Dasilver of the National Impact emerged as the best reporter in anti-corruption reporting..
A former Chairman of the NUJ in the state, Mr Stephen Oni of the New Telegraph won the best reporter in security and INEC category.(NAN)
