NANS Senate applauds Governor Kefas for appointing technocrat Josiah Habu Executive Vice Chairman Taraba Bio-entrepreneurship Innovation, Solution Agency
The Senate of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), under the leadership of the Clerk of Senate, Amb. Hope Daniel Vyonku, has extended its profound commendation to the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for the visionary appointment of Mr. Josiah Bitrus Habu as the Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary of the Governing Board of the Taraba State Bio-entrepreneurship Innovation and Solution Agency (TASBISA).
This was contained in a statement Monday by Comrade Jacob Bukata Mazadu, Chief Press Secretary to the Clerk, NANS Senate.
The statement stressed that in an era where leadership is often marred by sentiment and mediocrity, Governor Kefas has, once again, demonstrated uncommon foresight by appointing a man of enviable academic pedigree, scientific distinction, and unassailable character.
According to the statement, Mr. Habu’s towering achievements in the realm of biotechnology and public administration are not mere ink on paper—they are deeply rooted in measurable impact, institutional reform, and scholarly excellence.
“A product of intellectual rigor and policy innovation, Mr. Habu holds an MSc in BioSciences and has served meritoriously in various strategic capacities, including as Coordinating Director of the Bioresources Development Centres across 31 states of the country under the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA), where he spearheaded many bio production initiatives, bioenergy processes, waste-to-wealth programs, environmental biotechnology, and rural tech-empowerment,” the statement pointed out.
It further stated that Mr. Habu’s contributions in advancing Nigeria’s biotechnology ecosystem are lauded not just within our national borders but also among international research and academic bodies.
“As a consummate technocrat, a forward-thinking innovator, and a public intellectual par excellence, Mr. Habu’s elevation to this sensitive and strategic position within TASBISA is not only fitting but also symbolic of the Governor’s unwavering commitment to meritocracy, competence, and purposeful leadership,” NANS Clerk to the Senate noted.
It noted that: “The NANS Senate believes that the creation and operationalization of TASBISA under this new leadership structure will serve as a fulcrum for harnessing indigenous talent, incubating bio-entrepreneurial ventures, and addressing critical issues in health care delivery, smart agriculture production, digital innovation in all time processes, and ecological sustainability in Taraba State.
“We salute Governor Kefas for exhibiting a sterling example of such intentional governance—for choosing excellence over expediency, integrity over partisanship, and performance over politicking,” the statement stressed.
The Clerk prayed that May the appointment of the technocrat per excellence usher in a new dawn of scientific prosperity through youth empowerment, and innovation-driven economic growth across Taraba and beyond.
