Nasarawa commissioner commends governor Sule over COVID-19 palliatives

Nasarawa State Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport, Hon. Phillip Dada has commended the the Governor. Engineer Abdullahi Sule on the government’s swift response and distribution of rice, sanitizers, testing kits, face masks and other items as palliative measures to all local governments to cushion effects of COVID-19 lockdown.

He gave this commendation while interacting with newsmen monitoring the compliance of COVID-19 lockdown.

He disclosed that one trailer load with 1200 bags of 25kg rice were distributed to Karu local government area where all the wards benefitted and expressed gratitude to the state government.

Dada stressed that the items distributed so far are deliberate steps taken by the state government to ensure that the people of the state are well taken care of during the period in order to comply with the guidelines rolled out for the protection and prevention of COVID-19.

He further stressed that to the best of his knowledge, the government of Nasarawa State is yet to benefit from any support from the federal government on any of its palliative measures, ranging from Conditional Cash Transfer and food items.

The commissioner who was the Secretary to the State Government during the administration of Governor Abdullahi Adamu urged the people of the state especially Karu local government to be law-abiding by keeping to the conditions raised by government to avoid the spread of the disease across the state.

He said both the federal and state governments are working hard to ease the pains caused by the lockdown.
The commissioner assured the people of Karu local government in particular and Nasarawa State at large that the government of Enginer Sule will deliver most of its campaign promises.

According to him, the state government has started some projects like the Mega Park construction and others, which are currently hampered by the directive of Nasarawa State government as well as the federal government for people to stay at home.

Dada called on the people of the state to support the government of Governor Sule to deliver the needed dividend of democracy to all the nooks and crannies of the state.
