Nasarawa Government tasks newly appointed Provost on transparency, accountability

Nasarawa State Government has tasked the newly appointed Provost, College of Education Akwanga, Dr Best Nuhu-Barau, on transparency and accountability to move the institution to greater academic heights.
Dr Labaran Magaji, SAN, Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, gave this charge while presenting an appointment letter to Dr Best Nuhu-Barau in Lafia.
Magaji enjoined the new Provost to strictly adhere to the ideals of the present administration under the leadership of Gov Abdullahi Sule that are anchored on transparency, fairness, trust, loyalty, and creativity to impact positively on the state.
The State Chief Scribe noted that the success of any administration or institution lies in its contribution to societal development and the future of the younger generation, hence urged to prioritise the welfare of students.
Magaji urged the new Provost to work hard to maintain a conducive learning environment to promote academic excellence in the institution to meet international standards.
He called on the Provost to strengthen collaboration with the Governing Council, academic and non-academic staff, and members of the college community.
He congratulated the new Provost on his well-deserved appointment and urged him to justify the confidence reposed in him by the state government.
Magaji appealed to the staff of the institution to give the new Provost maximum cooperation and support to enable him to succeed in repositioning the institution for greater productivity.
Dr Best Nuhu-Barau, Provost, College of Education, Akwanga, expressed profound appreciation to Gov Sule and the Nasarawa State Government for the trust and opportunity entrusted to him to serve in that capacity.
He pledged total loyalty to the state government as he works diligently towards fulfilling Gov Sule’s administration vision for the education sector in his new assignment.
