Nasarawa Governor Sule mourns late President Buhari

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has expressed his heart fell over the suddenly death of the former President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari who died in a clinic in London on Sunday.

In his condolence message, which the governor personally signed in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital on Sunday, July 13, 2025 and obtained by our correspondent, he described him as a great man and an epitome of honesty whose legacy will never be forgotten in a hurry.

According to the statement, “It is with deep sorrow and a profound sense of loss, that I receive the sad news of the passing of His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, and elder statesman and former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

His words, “The late President Buhari was not just a leader; he was a symbol of honesty, discipline, and unwavering commitment to the Nigerian project.

“Throughout his life, he stood as a beacon of integrity and patriotism; never wavering in his resolve to serve the country with selflessness, honesty and courage.

His leadership, marked by simplicity and a deep sense of duty, which endeared him to millions both at home and abroad.”

The statement, however, maintained that the late president connection with Nasarawa State was especially heartfelt. “He was a friend to the people, a father figure to so many of us, and a guiding light to leaders across generations.

“As we in Nasarawa state mourn the passing of this rare patriot, we cherish that he lived with purpose, honour, and deep conviction.”

The governor further added that, “We pray earnestly that Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.

“May He comfort and strengthen his beloved family, friends, associates, and indeed the entire nation in this moment of great grief.

“Nigeria has lost a statesman, but his legacy of service and truth will live on.

“May Allah grant Baba His rahama and make aljannat Firdausi his abode. Ameen,” the statement concluded.
