Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State on Friday signed N199.8 billion 2024 appropriation bill into law.
The Governor assented to the budget at the Government House, Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.
The budget was tagged “budget of renewed commitment”.
Governor Sule appreciated the Speaker and members of the assembly for ensuring due diligence in the execution of their duties.
The governor, while assuring that he would to continue to implement the budget within the economic threshold, said that government would adhere strictly to the budgetary provision.
He urged the members of the state assembly to be committed in carrying out their oversight function, noting that it helps towards addressing identified loopholes.
Speaker of the State Assembly, Danladi Jatau reiterated the commitment of the state legislative arm in supporting the state government under Governor Abdullahi Sule to pursue his people’s oriented programmes.
The speaker emphasized that the budget had passed through all the necessary legislative procedures.
Also speaking, state Commissioner for Finance, Munirat Abdullahi commended the budget committee for playing greater role that led to the successful passage of the budget by the state assembly.
Among those present at the ceremony are the Deputy Governor Dr Emmanuel Akabe, Principal Officers and Members of the State Assembly, the State Chief Judge, Justice Aisha Bashir, Emir of Lafia Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad (rtd) as well as the State Chairman of APC Alhaji Aliyu Bello.
