Nasarawa Information Commissioner tasks civil servants on dedication to duty

Nasarawa State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr Ibrahim Tanko, has urged civil servants to exhibit a high level of commitment and dedication to work to achieve the vision of Governor Abdullahi Sule for the state.

Dr Tanko gave the charge while interacting with the Permanent Secretary and Directors in the Ministry on an assumption of office on Monday in Lafia.

The new Commissioner harped on the right attitude to work to help in driving Gov Sule’s administration’s vision and objectives for the betterment of Nasarawa state.

He also called for a harmonious working relationship among members of the staff to move the ministry forward.

Tanko, therefore, enjoined civil servants in the state to always imbibe discipline as they work in line with the vision of the present administration of Gov Sule.

The Commissioner, therefore, sought the support and cooperation of the members of the staff of the ministry as they worked toward the development of the ministry and the state at large.

“I am here as commissioner not because I’m the best or more intelligent, I’m here to work and I’m going to work with you. I need your support and cooperation.

“Whatever you do if there is no harmonious working relationship, you will not achieve the aim. All I need is a harmonious working relationship,” he emphasised.

Earlier speaking, Mr Yusuf Musa, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry introduced the new commissioner to the members of staff and urged them to support him.

“We are lucky to have a professional as commissioner of information, Culture and Tourism, however, he needs our support to succeed,” he said.

He directed departmental directors to brief the commissioner on their departmental projects and activities accordingly.
