Nasarawa LG elections: Stakeholders applaud peaceful processes

Stakeholders in Nasarawa State have commended the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC) for the peaceful conduct of local government elections in the state.
Stakeholders, while speaking in Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area after casting their votes on Saturday applauded the electoral umpire for giving playing ground to all political parties.
Mr. Ibrahim Angbolo, Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism hailed the peaceful processes, particularly in Nassarawa Eggon LGA.
Angbolo commended the state’s electoral body for upholding the sanctity of democracy by giving equal opportunity for all political parties to participate in the contest.
The Commissioner equally thanked voters for coming out to exercise their franchise to elect the candidates of their choice.
“I have gone around to several polling units, I’m happy with the way the voters conducted themselves in an orderly manner. I also commended security agencies for ensuring law and order is maintained,” he said.
Angbolo expressed optimism that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would emerge victorious in both the Chairmanship and councilorship elections, given the numerous achievements of parties in the state.
Mr Iliya Aliyu, a chairmanship candidate on the platform of APC after voting at Dan Galadima polling unit 015, expressed satisfaction with the process and commended the electoral umpire for giving a level playing ground for political parties.
“I must commend the process, is transparent, free, and fair, from the preparation to the conduct of this election is very satisfactory. I wish the electioneering process in this country should continue in this manner.
“This is a clear manifestation of the exercise of the franchise, and as a country, we believe in a democracy where citizens are given the liberty to choose their leader.
“In exercising that we do it by ballot And today we are witnessing a casting of ballots which will usher in a democratic government at local government councils,” he said.

Mr Danladi Envuluanza lauded NASIEC for providing a level playing ground for the political parties and also commended security agencies for putting in place adequate security measures to forestall the breakdown of law and order.
Mr Ayuba Wandai, NASIEC Chairman, said he was impressed by the enthusiasm shown by voters and urged them to continue to be calm as well as conduct themselves in an orderly manner during the exercise.
“We are on elections monitoring, sadly there is a delay in the distributions of electoral materials in Nassarawa Eggon LGA, and we are glad that distribution is over, election proper will start soon, ” he stated.
