Nasarawa LG polls: Youth group canvasses for Karu PDP candidate

As election for local government councils draw near, in Nasarawa State, a youth organization, KKK has thrown its weight for the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP’s) candidate for Karu Local Government, Engr. Kefas Danlami (JP) Kaura and Hajiya Khadija Aliyu.

Group leader, Ifianyi Emmanuel told Apex News Exclusive in Karu recently that, the youth who are the most affected by bad governance at the grassroots can’t any longer fold their hands during the process of determining emergence of grassroots leaders. He added that for too long, the youth has only concentrated on state and federal electioneering, ignoring the most critical sphere of governance, the local government. Ifianyi disclosed that it is a national project taken up by KKK to mobilize the youth in her closet for good governance at the grassroots.

He explained that, KKK’s ideals is to crusade and support emergence of credible leaders at the local government levels nationwide, especially now that local government autonomy is
imminent, so that development will be experienced in the third tier of the government.

Also on ground in Nasarawa State, Ifianyi stated that the KKK in her traditional style has done due diligence assessment of candidates showcased by various political parties especially in Karu local government and has decided to mobilize support for the best of the best. According to him, Karu local government because of its cosmopolitan nature needs a leader who is excellently competent to galvanize the affairs of the over 3 million people residence in the domain.

“Engr. Kefas Danlami Kaura (JP) and Hajiya Khadija Aliyu have what it takes for the job. Their wealth of experience is sin-qua-none. These are people who are accessible. They are loved by the people and are people of integrity. We strongly trust them and come October 6, all the youths in Karu will vote them to power. We have mobilized for that, and we are still going to continue, because in them Karu will move forward from the norm and grips of shackles of backwardness under bad leadership. Things must change this time that is why we are on ground” he pointed out.
