The Nasarawa State Government reaffirmed its commitment to developing potential tourist sites to promote tourism and cultural heritage in the state.

The state also announced that it would partner with the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) on their planned documentary, showcasing the state’s rich tourist sites and cultural heritage to a global audience.

Dr Labaran Magaji, Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, made this known while receiving the veteran Actor and a former Vice President of AGN, Steve Eboh, in his office on Tuesday in Lafia.

Magaji said Nasarawa state was blessed with rich tourist sites and cultural heritage and underscored the need to showcase them to the world.

The State Chief Scribe listed some potential tourist sites to include Farin Ruwa Waterfalls and Hydro Power Station in Wamba, Keana Salt, Awe Hot Spring, Fefe Ruwa Lake, Maloney Hills in Keffi among others.

“Coming to explore Nasarawa State’s potential tourist sites is a blessing because it will showcase our rich tourist sites that abound and cultural heritage the world is yet to see.

“And thankfully the movie they are shooting is going to be Netflix standard, meaning that it is a world standard, anybody anywhere in the globe will be able to watch it as though they were in Nasarawa State.

Magaji said the partnership was in line with the policy direction of the administration of Gov Abdullahi Sule toward the promotion of tourism and the rich cultural heritage that abounds in the state.

“This will go a long way in opening new opportunities for our teeming youths as well as attracting investors to Nasarawa State in no small measure. What they are doing is a welcome development,” he said.

On his part, Steve Eboh, said the film project would open up new opportunities for young talent and creative minds to exploit and unleash their talents as they showcase tourist potential and cultural heritage.

On the choice of Nasarawa State for the documentary, the Nollywood Actor said the state has abundant rich tourist centres, noting that the film was about Africa which the state represents

He advised people of the state, particularly the youths to take advantage of the natural endowment to explore their potentials for the good of Nasarawa State and the country at large.
