Nasarawa State command of the Nigerian Police has disclosed that it arrested different types of suspects in last year.
The spokesperson of the command, ASP Rahman Nansel made the disclosure in Lafia that, ” From January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021, the State Police Command has arrested suspects, including: 104 Kidnappers; 102 Armed robbers; 309 Cultist; 50, rail track/slippers vandals; 61 rapists; 2 Indian hemp dealers; 25 Internet fraudsters and 37 suspects attested for culpable homicide.
“Items recovered are 82 number of firearms; 1116; ammunitions recovered; 11 Vehicles; 24 Laptops; 45 Motor cycles; 12 Tricycles, 38 bags of Indian hemps and 475 people arrested for sundry offences.”.
According to him, the Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Adesina Soyemi is poised to safe guard the lives and property of the good people of Nasarawa State, thereby creating a peaceful environment for businesses to strive against crime and criminals
ASP Nansel said that the successes so far recorded which have led to drastic reduction of crime in the State were made possible due to the untiring support of the State government, reinvigorated community policing mechanism.
He said, the command thanked members of the public for their support and solicited for more collaboration in the coming year as the Police Command will not relent on its oars in crime fighting in order to reduce it to its barest minimum.
