The Director General National Taskforce for the Prohibition of Illegal Importation/Smuggling of Arms, Ammunition, Light Weapon and Chemical Weapon and Pipeline Vandalism (NATFORCE) Chief Osita Okereke has described the emergence of Professor Ibrahim Gambari as the new Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, as a round peg in a round hole considering his vast experience in governance.

Reacting to the appointment in a press statement to Apex News Exclusive in Abuja Thursday, Chief Okereke commended President Buhari for his foresight and wisdom in choosing Professor Gambari to replace the late Chief of Staff, Malam Abba Kyari.

“We expect the new CoS to bring his vast knowledge to bear on his new assignments. His experience will come handy as the nation battles the dreaded novel COVID-19 pandemic. He will no doubt be an asset to this administration.

“As a former diplomat who has at different times ensured that Nigeria and indeed Africa’s views got global attention, he is most suitable and qualified for this job,” the DG noted.

While wishing the new CoS well, Chief Okereke advised him to put the nation first in carrying out his new assignments.

Professor Ibrahim Gambari, a former United Nations Under-Secretary and a former Minister of External Affairs takes over from late Malam Kyari who died on April 17 of COVID-19 complications.
