National APGA chairman, Barrister Ezeokenwa, celebrates birthday with Mass, orphanage visits

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, marked his birthday on January 21, 2026, in Awka with acts of charity and thanksgiving to God.

The celebration began with visits to three charitable institutions in the Awka metropolis Model Community Children’s Home, Faith Community Children’s Home, and God’s Care School for Special Needs. At the homes, Barrister Ezeokenwa donated gift items, encouraged the children and caregivers, and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the welfare of vulnerable members of society.

Later in the day, a Pontifical Mass was held in his honour at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish, Awka. The Mass was presided over by the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor. Present at the liturgy were diocesan senior priests resident at Aquinas Parish, the Chancellor of the Diocese, Very Rev. Fr. Charles Ndubisi, the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Francis Oranye, and over fifteen concelebrating priests, adding to the solemnity and joy of the occasion.

In his homily, Bishop Ezeokafor commended Barrister Ezeokenwa for his service driven leadership and charitable disposition, urging Christians and leaders alike to emulate his spirit of generosity and commitment to the common good.

The event attracted party faithful, community leaders, friends, and children from the orphanage homes, many of whom expressed appreciation for the APGA Chairman’s humility and dedication to social responsibility.

Highlights of the celebration included special prayers offered for Barrister Ezeokenwa and his wife, Mrs. Ugosimba Amara Sly Ezeokenwa who also celebrated her birthday on January 18, 2026 as well as a reception held after the Mass.

The birthday celebration reflected a harmonious blend of faith, compassion, and public service, reinforcing APGA’s ideals of inclusive development and community care.
