National Assembly pledges continues support for NDE

Both chambers of the Nigerian National Assembly, Senate and House of Representatives have lend their full support for the empowerment drive of youth by the National Directorate of Employment, (NDE)
Members of the Assembly,
Senator Diket Plang, Chairman Senate Committee on Labour and Honourable Adefarati Adebayo, Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Labour made the statements.
The said at their separate speeches at the flag off of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Employment Initiative of 93,731 youth across the country under the supervision of the NDE on Friday.
Senator Diket Plang said, “Our hearts at the NASS, specifically at the Senate, is with the NDE for its zeal to start the training of 93,731 Nigerian youth, women and People With Disabilities, (PWD).
“I am happy and wants the continuation of the liaison by the Ministry of Humanitarian Services with the NDE for its structure across the country and a parastatal of Ministry of Labour and Employment.
“I am calling on all Ministries, Department and Agencies to liaise with NDE because it has professional trainers.” He said.
Senator Diket Plang called on the beneficiaries to learn with vigour, how they can shape their future by concentrating, being self employed towards becoming future employers of Labour.
The Lawmaker congratulates NDE and the beneficiaries for being part of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative to empower Nigerians.
In his speech, Hon Adefarati Adebayo, Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Labour said, “The House of Representatives is supporting the President through NDE to address the unemployment challenges in the country.
“My committee is working closely with NDE to make the program work well and we commend Honourable Silas Ali Agara for his efforts in delivering dividend of democracy through the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative.” He said.
Hon Adefarati Adebayo stressed that Nigerians should know that this initiative will not eradicate unemployment, but will reduce it.
In his speech, Direction General of NDE, Hon Silas Ali Agara said, “The current employment initiative has been designed to engage a total of 93,731 unskilled and unemployed persons across Nigeria. Inclusiveness has been a cardinal consideration as we designed this programme.
“We have ensured that a minimum of 10 persons from each of the 8,809 electoral wards in Nigeria were recruited to benefit from the 30 skill sets across our four core programmes of Vocational Skills Development, Small Scale Enterprises, Rural Employment Promotion and Special Public Works.” Said DG NDE
