National chairmanship: PDP Youth Vanguard warns subverting November 28 NEC meeting against North-Central candidature

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) North Central Vigilant Youth Vanguard has warned against any plan not to select a Substantive National Chairman of the Party in its scheduled November 28 National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

The Vanguard said in a statement that it was aware of unfolding plans that the North-Central Geo-Political Zone to forfeits selecting a Substantive National Chairman as the it is too short a time for the tenure would end by December 2025.

It noted that “A senseless plot has just been uncovered by the PDP North Central Vigilant Youth Vanguard, in which some stupid and irresponsible moles within the PDP North Central Zonal Exco and Zonal Caucus have received some huge amounts of funds in a foreign currency, from some quarters for the sole purpose of proposing and supporting the following subversive agenda at the next meetings of the PDP North Central Zonal Exco and/or Zonal Caucus (where the issue of the Zonal Bid for the PDP Substantive National Chairmanship Position will be discussed).”

According to the Vanguard, those behind the plot are to argue that the time of one year left is too short for the North Central Candidate to properly and effectively reign as the Substantive National Chairman of the Party, PDP, and therefore, that the North Central Zonal Leadership should forget their current bid for the Substantive National Chairmanship seat at the PDP NEC Meeting of Thursday 28th November 2024.

According to the plotters, that in return, the PDP North Central Zone will be given the sole right to bring forward the Candidate for the position of the National Chairman in the next PDP election Convention in December 2025 and North Central Zonal Leadership should pass the Binding Resolutions at the relevant Zonal organs to allow the current status quo at the PDP NWC and at the PDP NEC to remain unchanged.

The Vanguard described these suggestion is a mischief, a dangerous plot, a treason and a misadventure.

The Vanguard noted that such plot is a Treason against the good people of North Central Geo-Political Zone and it will be vehemently resisted by all means available and in the strategic interests of those stupid moles who have collected such dirty bribes, the dirty money should carefully be returned back to the donor(s) as it will not work; it can not work.

They also stressed that the North Central Geo-Political Zone is now irrevocably committed and irrevocably prepared to take up the mantle of the National leadership of the PDP as its Constitutional Right, at the next NEC meeting of 28 November and that any further attempt to postpone the said NEC Meeting and/or undo the needful at the NEC Meeting, will potentially dissolve the Corporate Existence of PDP as a Party.

The Vanguard called on the Great Leaders of the PDP, especially the Party’s key previous and current beneficiaries; the former Presidents of Nigeria, former Vice-Presidents, former Senate Presidents, former Deputy Senate Presidents, former Rt. Hon. Speakers and Deputy Speakers of the National Assembly, former State Governors, former State Deputy Governors, serving Governors with their serving Deputies, serving Senators, the current PDP National Assembly Caucus and serving Members of the House of Representatives; to immediately call these subversive elements within and outside the PDP, to order and request them to henceforth stop their current destructive and treasonable actions.

It said Constitutional Democracy is best practiced in a competitive environment and Nigeria can not be a One-Party State.
