Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule has assured that with the successful conduct of its national convention, the All Progressives Congress (APC), is now ready to withstand any challenge ahead of the 2023 general election.

According to the Governor, who also chaired the media subcommittee of convention planning committee, with the emergence of the new national working committee of the party, he is confident that the APC can withstand whatever challenge that is coming.

While appreciating God for bringing the party to this height, he expressed confidence that the APC has the strength and capacity to withstand any kind of opposition.

“People have come together, people have left behind all the differences that we have had in the past and we are in the process now of selecting and voting for the right people who are going to take the leadership of this party and take this party to victory,” he stated.

Also speaking, former governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-makura, said as a loyal member of the APC, he was at the venue of the convention to not only ensure a smooth exercise but also to add value and credibility to the process.

He assured that he will go to any length to ensure that the APC survives and progresses.

“As a loyal party member, like you know, I had to withdraw my candidature of the chairmanship, in order to make the party strong.

“I am doing that with all good intention to ensure that whoever emerges, within the rank and file of the positions, we will work with each of them to ensure that the area that they are operating are successful,” he said.

He promised to support the national chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, as well as all members of the NWC, as according to him, he cannot destroy what he has built.

On his part, Chairman, Nasarawa State chapter of the APC, Hon John Mamman, expressed gratitude that the slot of the national chairman of the party has come to Nasarawa State.

Hon. Mamman then appreciated Senator Al-makura for following the decision of the party and for the understanding when he withdrew from the contest for the position of the national chairman.

“We want to thank him immensely, for the understanding he has given to the people of Nasarawa State, for the people of Nigeria and the APC community. The unity of the party in Nasarawa State, you can see that the party is stronger than ever before,” he stated.

The first civilian governor of the state, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, emerged as the consensus candidate and was duly inaugurated as the new national chairman of the ruling APC.
