National Council of Women Societies mourns Nigeria ex-minister Jummai Alhassan

The National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) has expressed her condolence over the death of former Minister of Women Affairs, Sen. Jummai Alhassan who passed away at an undisclosed hospital in Cairo, Egypt at the age of 61 years old.
The condolence message was contained in a massage signed by the National President of NCWS, Mrs Laraba Shoda, on Sunday in Abuja.
Mrs. Shoda who said that the deceased was a strong supporter of the council and the women added that it is with heavy heart that she announce the passing to glory of our dear mentor and supporter of this NCWS administration, Her Excellency Jummai Alhassan.
”The dead of the former Minister of Women Affairs and the great Mama Taraba is so sad. NCWS and indeed Nigerian Women will miss you greatly.
”She was a pillar and role model. Very generous kind and friendly. May the Almighty bless her soul and may she have eternal rest.”
Mrs. Shoda also said Mama Taraba would be remembered for her contributions to the Nigerian polity, particularly her advocacy and campaign on the empowerment of women and the challenges they face.
It would be recalled that Alhassan was appointed the Minister of Women Affairs by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 and had served as Senator from 2011-2015 representing Taraba North.
