National Nationwide League mourns Coach Chukwu

The National Nationwide League One (NLO) has expressed sadness at the death of Coach Supremo Chukwu which occurred on Saturday morning.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that until his death, Chukwu, who hailed from Ebonyi, was the Founder and Coach of Lamray United FC, Enugu.
He had reportedly complained of heart ache during his club’s training on Friday in Enugu.
The NLO Director in-charge of South-East, Ebere Amaraizu, told NAN on Saturday in Enugu that he was shocked at the death.
“This is a big loss to the NLO family. We needed to tap from his great wealth of experience as a football coach and administrator.
“It is very unfortunate. It is difficult to believe that we have lost Supremo,’’ he said.
Amaraizu commiserated with the coach’s family members, and prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
“We pray that his family bears the loss with faith in God.
“NLO will continue to pray that his gentle soul finds rest in the bosom of the Lord,’’ he said.
NAN reports that Chukwu led Lamray FC to finish well at the NLO Group D1 in the current NLO 2017/2018 season.
The promotional play-off between Lamray FC and Crime Busters FC (leaders of Group D2) has yet to be fixed by the NLO Board.
Lamray FC also participated in the just-concluded 2018 Enugu State Football Association Cup. (NAN)
