NCPC Executive Secretary Bishop Adegbite receives pioneer Executive Secretary on a condolence visit

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Prof. Stephen Adegbite, received a condolence visit from the Commission’s pioneer Executive Secretary, Prof. John Kennedy Opara, and his delegation Tuesday.

The visit was held to console Bishop Adegbite and his family on the passing of his father, late Chief Moses Adegbite, who died on 14, November 2025 at the age of 86 after a brief illness.

During the audience, Bishop Adegbite thanked Prof. Opara for his heartfelt condolences, describing the pioneer Executive Secretary as “a living saint whose legacy will outlive him.”

He added that Prof. Opara’s successful career in all its facets had earned him great respect and that celebrating individuals while they are alive is essential. The NCPC boss expressed confidence that peace will prevail in Nigeria, enabling the nation to move forward.

In his remarks, Prof. Opara conveyed his sympathy to Bishop Adegbite and the Adegbite family, saying, “It is with a deep sense of loss but also gratitude to God that I come to condole you on the death of Baba and our late NCPC Board member, Archbishop Numel Baba.”

He highlighted the strong, robust relationship he has built with Bishop Adegbite over the years, which prompted the visit.
Prof. Opara quoted Scripture, Romans 14:7‑8: “If we die, we die for the Lord; if we live, we live for the Lord,” and added, “God gave and He has taken; blessed be His holy name.”

He affirmed that late Chief Moses Adegbite lived a good life and was a gift to Nigeria, encouraging the family to “be strong; your father has done his part.”
He prayed that God would enable Bishop Adegbite to finish his tenure well and surpass his achievements as Executive Secretary.

Prof. Opara, Chairman of CSS Global Integrated Farms in Gora, Nasarawa State, was accompanied by his management team, including General Manager Dr. Ifeoma Unachukwu.
