The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, (NCPC), Rev. Dr. Yakubu Pam on Sunday December 31, 2023 paid another visit to Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State to sympathise with victims of the attack that claimed more than 200 lives Christmas eve.
The NCPC boss also paid condolence visits to the families of late Engr Sunday Hyat Mantu, and that of the Dagwom Rwey of Za’a, Da Christopher Mancha on their individual losses early this month.
This was contained in a statement by Pam Ayuba, SA Media and Public Affairs to the Executive Secretary to Apex News Exclusive.
At Mangu, the Executive Secretary addressed some IDPs where he donated food items and toiletries to the victims of the recent attacked spread in four different camps across the local government.
He encouraged the people to be forgiven and exercise patience and focus on God. He urged them to live in harmony with one another and to avoid trouble as life has no duplicate.
Responding on behalf of the victims, Soden Mathias said they were grateful for the food donation and said Saturday 30th and early morning Sunday 31st December three people sustained injuries from an attack and the attackers were repelled by security agencies avoiding another sad day respectively.
At the family residence of Late Engr. Hyat in Ganawuri, Riyom Local Government Area, the NCPC helmsman told the widow of the immediate past Head of Service, Plateau State to take solace in God as what happened was the will of God. He died at the age of 60 two weeks ago in a hospital in abuja after a brief illness.

Rev Pam extolled the virtues of the late seasoned administrator describing him of a rear gentleman who stood for what he believed in and said the news of his death was painful especially to the family, the church and the entire state. He died at the age of 60 two weeks ago in Abuja.
According to Rev Pam, “death is not bad to man but a way of exit back to God to give chance to the younger ones to take over from us. We need to be prepared at all times.
Responding, brother of the deceased, Mr Gaga Hyat, a lecturer with the Plateau State Polytechnic, thanked Rev. Pam for the visit and said they’re encouraged. Said death is what we do not usually get used to but as a family they have since accepted what happened which was why they held a Thanksgiving service to express their acceptance of what God has done to them.
At the Palace of the Za’a Paramount Ruler, the Dagwom Rwey Za’a, Da Christopher Mancha, a Third Class Chief who loss his daughter and mother in-law a few weeks ago, Rev Pam comforted them over these painful losses and prayed God to console the families at this period.
He said the Chief has been a father to many. Said no matter how one feels the pain of losing someone closer to you is hard to bear. Said we must allow God to comfort us and not to mourn over what has happened but allow peace to reign.
Responding, Da Mancha thanked Rev Pam for the visit and said he was proud of him for living up to his billing as the ES of NCPC.
He said, the family was gratified and already picking up the pieces of their lives after the devastating death of their daughter and mother in-law and will not challenged the will of God.
