By Anthony Maliki, Abuja

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev. Dr. Yakubu Pam, has charged staff of the Commission to be more dedicated to their work, to act as a family, and avoid any neglect of their duties.

Rev. Pam commended the NCPC staff for their hard work and God’s protection throughout the previous year, particularly for the successful airlifting of pilgrims to the Holyland of Jordan.

He made the remarks on Friday, January 19 while addressing staff at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

He emphasized the importance of praising God and the five benefits that come with it, including forgiveness of sins, healing of infirmities, filling our mouths with good things, and praising God.

The Executive Secretary also warned against engaging in vices such as envy, animosity, gossiping, rumour-mongering, and anger.

Rev. Pam instructed the staff to sit up, shun redundancy, and take discipline seriously to combat any excesses of staff who indulge in frivolous activities.

He disclosed that the pilgrimage exercise to Rome and Greece would commence in February, and the Commission had taken all necessary steps to obtain visas for the intending pilgrims.

He warned against absconding and collusion with pilgrims, as the Commission would engage old hands in the screening process to ensure the safety and security of all pilgrims.

Rev. Pam assured the staff that the Commission had increased airfares to facilitate smooth operations and that with God’s help, it would improve its running costs for greater efficiency.

He urged the staff to be more proactive in their duties and to work together as a team to achieve the Commission’s objectives.
