NDE ready for 2nd phase of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Employment Initiative – DG Agara

Hon. Silas Ali Agara, Director General of the National Directorate of Employment, (NDE) has disclosed that the Directorate has completed arrangements for the successful take-off of the second phase of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Employment Initiative, (RHEI) at the end of August.
He made the disclosure at a 1-day meeting on the implementation of the second phase of the RHEI in Abuja, that this phase targets 21,782 beneficiaries and support for successful trainees from development partners.
According to him, “I am calling on my management and staff to gear-up for the successful program from inception to completion online for the benefit of all Nigerians including youth, adults and people with special needs, respectively.
“This second Phase is a strategic plan aimed at significantly reducing youth unemployment by enhancing the relevance, quality, and scalability of NDE’s programmes in alignment with labour market demands.
“This Initiative portfolio includes Vocational Skills Development (VSD), Small Scale Enterprises (SSE), Rural Employment Promotion (REP), and Special Public Works (SPW) — all aimed at equipping Nigerians with relevant and marketable skills for self-employment and wage employment.” Said the Director General.
Honourable Silas Agara said, the registration process will be Online for all participants using the upgraded NDE registration portal.
In his speech, Mr Edmund Onwuliri, Director Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr Edmund Onwuliri said, the portal upgrade includes a complete backend specific to every state, as State Coordinators, ICT Heads, Job centre Staff & HODs of Programme Departments to select participants, Password will be changed every 24 hours from the Headquarters. After selection by the States, the headquarters will give final approval.
He stressed that, after training, successful trainees would apply for resettlement and all other types of loans online with their unique ID.
Participant were drawn from the headquarters and state offices across the country.
