Network 11-100 roads: Gombe signs multi-billion naira contracts for 6 new road projects

In continuation of its opening up the state through roads construction, Gombe State Government on Wednesday signed contract agreements worth billions of naira for six new roads across the three senatorial districts of the state.
The Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engineer Abubakar Bappah, during the official signing of the contract agreements between Gombe State Government and the construction firms, said that the road projects which are part of the “Network 11-100” initiative of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya will cut across over 30 towns and villages, adding that it will further open up more economic activities in the areas.
He noted that the State government under the leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya is committed in its efforts to provide basic and social infrastructure for the use of the people appealing to the construction firms to speedily execute quality job in compliance with terms and conditions of the contract agreements.
According to him, “These roads are very vital, I therefore urge our contractors to stick to specifications and guidelines and our engineers will always be on site to offer professional advices as need be and you should cooperate with them to ensure good job”.

In their separate remarks, the Director General, Gombe State Joint Project Development Agency, Engr. Idris Mahdi, Special Adviser to the Governor on Project Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation, Prof. Namala Amuga Keftin thanked Governor Inuwa Yahaya for his foresight and commitment to ensuring the actualisation of the network 11-100 in the state.
In his vote of thanks, the Chairman Nafada local government area, Alhaji Musa Abubakar appreciated Governor Inuwa Yahaya for specially awarding Nafada link road which he said the people of the area have been yarning for long and assured that people of Nafada will massively reciprocate the gesture by supporting his re-election in 2023.
Responding on behalf of the Constructing firms, the Managing Director SKECC, Mr. Zho thanked Gombe State Government for considering them worthy to execute the road projects and assured that they will do everything possible to meet the projects specifications and complete within the time frame.
It could be recalled that the State Executive Council, chaired by Governor Inuwa Yahaya had on its last sitting approved and awarded the six new road projects in the state after a successful bidding process.
The road projects included the 17 KM Tashan Magarya – Lamba – Zange-Bappah Ibrahima- Luggerewo- Jauro Bello- Papa to link with Pindiga Road awarded to Grandscope Construction Nigeria Ltd at the cost of N4,236,785,513:14 with a completion period of 24 months.
The 40 KM Tappi-Kalajanga-Bomala-Alagarno-Dinawa-Dundehe-Damba Barde-Abuja/bula-Girgam-Shongo Sarkin Yaki through the Gombe western by- pass was equally awarded to SKECC Nigeria Ltd at the cost of N8,525,018,707:80 with a completion period of 24 months.
There is also the Filiya-Gwandum-Keffi-Yaburo-Gurwa-Shakram-Daja to Gundale road was also awarded Triacta Nigeria Ltd at the contract sum of N5,310,117,214:00 with a completion period of 12 months.
Other roads are 10 kilometres Bojude to Dirri, awarded to Tinka Point Nigeria Ltd at the cost of N2,196,492,830:80, the 10 kilometres Nafada link road was awarded to FCC Faris Construction Ltd at the cost of N2.55 billion and the 27 kilometres Kuri-Nasarawa lambam-Gelambam-Dasa junction to Tallasse awarded to EEC International Ltd at the cost of N8,388,854,141:06 with a completion period of 22 months.
