New DG, FRIN, Professor Zachariah B. Yaduma

A researcher and Associate Professor, Zachariah B. Yaduma has been announced as the new Director General and Chief Executive Officer of Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria, (FRIN).
In a press statement to congratulate him, Joint Union Action Committee of affiliate institutes hailed the appointment of Yaduma as laudable and a round peg in a round hole.
The statement said the Associate Professor of Ecosystem Management (Wildlife Conservation and Management, will revive the dwindling spirit of the staff members.
“The spirit of the average FRIN staff is now high. They are elated by the appointment and motivated to work harder.
The Joint Action Committee pledged to give him the desired supports necessary to enable him succeed in his appointment.
“We wish to throw our weight behind him and urge him to ignore all distractions and focus on seeing through his laudable vision of making FRIN the envy of Research Institutes in Nigeria.
“With the help of God, we look forward to working side by side with him for the common good of FRIN and her Colleges.”
They called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the Minister of Environment as well as the incoming administration to ignore calls against the newly appointed Director General, saying his appointment would be remembered as the best gift of the Buhari-administration to the country.
The JAC called on all stakeholders and staff of FRIN to unite in prayers and give Yuduma useful counsel, saying if he succeeds, they succeed. “If, however, we focus on the minor issues and pull him down, his failure will be upon us.”
They commended him for emphasis on practical welfare to personnel, disclosing that this has been lacking from previous administration.
According to them, the new helmsman is an eminently qualified academically, and has been a recognized researcher with many years of experience.
A detrinalised leader Yuduma is said to be level-headed, unassuming, God-fearing
“He worked in the Ministry of Agriculture, Yola, from 1991 to 2004, Asmau Farms Nigeria LTD, 2004 to 2009, then Ministry of Environment, Yola, from 2009 to 2014, and afterwards he transferred his services to Modibo Adama University of Technology, MAUTech, Yola, where he was imparting knowledge to both undergraduate and post graduate students at all levels and impacting lives, until his appointment as Director General on 1st April, 2023.
Since his appointment, the new director General immediately srt the ball rolling by touring round most of the Colleges and outstations of the institute to see things for himself.
His visit to the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, elicited joy amongst the staffers w hi o said a new dawn has come to the Institute.
