The new Principal, Federal Science and Technical College (FSTC) Jalingo Dr. Bibinu Samuel Ahmed has assured management and staff of the college of a cordial working relationship as he takes over leadership of the 35 years old college.
Bibinu who stated this shortly after receiving the mantle of leadership from the former duo, Dr. Mrs Mercy Adaramola Olubunmi told our correspondent in Jalingo that he needed nothing but cordial working collaboration to take the college to greater heights.
The principal who was speaking amidst several challenges facing the college new permanent relocation site (Sabon Gari) Jalingo, lauded Gov. Agbu Kefas intervention on the college particularly in the area of access road/bridge linking to the college premises and boosting of security presence, which he said gave rise to immediate opening of this academic term.
In line with the governor’s policy on education in Taraba State, Dr. Bibinu said the entire college is indebted to his administration for coming to their rescue at the point of need, as according to him, the only access road to the college was cut off even before the relocation of the college apart from insecurity bedeviling around the area but now have been addressed and urged that these positive landmarks should be included in the achievements of Gov. Kefas 100 days in office.
The principal who didn’t hide his feelings towards the tremendous success record by the Federal Ministry of Education (FME) for ensuring the completion and the relocation of the college to its permanent site 35 years after noted as mission accomplished and commended the present administration in that direction.
He noted that, the movement of the college to its permanent site notwithstanding requires huge funds, nothing that most structures were as old as 35 years ago precisely (1988) and requires total renovation as most infrastructure are at verge of decay and appealed to Federal Ministry of Education not to relent but come to the aide of the college.
The principal who listed major challenges confronting the college to include renovation of building/structures, grading of access road of the college, utilities among others assured that the college will not leave any stone unturned until its lofty dream is achieved.
Dr. Bibinu, who was then the principal Federal Government College (FGC) Buni-yadi, Yobe State was received on arrival by top management and staff of the college.
Meanwhile, some management and teachers who spoke to our correspondent shortly after signing and taking over the document described his transfer from Yobe state to Taraba as a home coming and good omen to the college.
