Newly Call to Bar Taraba Governor’s daughter pledges to abide by ethics of profession

Daughter of Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State and newly called to bar, Barrister Keziah Rahab Kefas has pledged to abide by the ethics of the profession of the judiciary.
She made the statement at a reception organized for her by family and well-wishers in Abuja at the weekend.
According to her, “I am thankful for the reception organized for me as a newly called to bar Lawyer, I really appreciate this event, the advice from senior citizens, senior colleagues and from others from other professions respectively.
“I will abide by the ethics of the profession, develop my quota in developing the judiciary and the country,” she said.
The reception was well attended by friends of Governor Agbu Kefas, who is a retired colonel of the Nigerian Army, friends, extended family members and Nigerians from all walks of life.
Alhaji Abdulwasiu Abdulaziz, a family friend advised the celebrant to continue striving towards making her parent proud by excelling in her professional career.
it could be recalled that, the Chairman, Body of Benchers, Justice Mary Peter-Odili urged the lawyers that have been newly called to the Bar to protect innocent citizens and uphold the rule of law at all times.
She likened the law to a sword, urged the lawyers to use the profession to fight injustice in the country and to be change agents.
Justice Odili said, “Wherever you decide to apply your talent as a lawyer, you will be required to act with utmost professionalism and wisdom as your legal advice, your professional actions, and even your inactions affect the lives of your clients and society at large,” she said.
A total of 1,097 legal practitioners were called to the Bar.
