Commission (NIDCOM) has congratulated the duo of Nana Khadija Mamudu-Haliru and Hon. Ayo Owodunni for winning their respective elections as Counsellors in Canada.
While Ayo Owodunni was elected City Counsellor in Kitchner, Ontario, Canada, Nana Khadija Mamudu-Haliru got elected as Counsellor Ingersoll of Ontario County, Canada.

In a personal congratulatory messages to both of them, Dabiri-Erewa described their
newest positions as a demonstration of dedication, honesty, determination and competence which most Nigerians are noted for especially in the diaspora.
“This win is a collective one for Nigerians, home and abroad, and we are solidly behind you.
She noted with pride the record – breaking recognition of Hon. Ayo Owodunni as “the first black city Councillor in the area to be so elected.
“On behalf of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) accept my
hearty congratulations,” she noted.
