Federal Commissioner of National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, (NCFRMI) Alhaji Ahmed Tijjani Aliyu has disclosed that Niger State will benefit from resettlement city, food and non-food distribution to households.

He made the disclosure when he led his management team on a courtesy visit to Niger State.

During the visit, he paid a courtesy call on Governor Umaru Bago in Government House and the Emir of Minna, Alhaji Umaru Faruk Bahago at his palace.

Alhaji Aliyu said, “Niger State will benefit from the 2024 budget allocation, particularly for the resettlement city, and the flag-off of food and non-food distribution will assist 700 households.

“The Commission is concerned over the various challenges the state faces, including banditry, Farmer/herdsmen clashes and natural disasters, which requires immediate attention and resolution”, he said.

The Honourable Federal Commissioner emphasized that the “Renewed Hope Initiative” agenda of President Bola Tinubu is not merely an economic plan but a national imperative that encompasses the well-being of individuals across society.

In his response, Governor Bago said the severity of challenges in the state surpasses those of Borno State.

He assured of continuing collaboration between the state and NCFRMI towards assisting People of Concerns, (POCs).
