The award presentation
The Commonwealth College of Bishops and Clergy Councils has conferred certificate of excellence and credence on Dr Gambo Gumel Aliyu, Director General of National Agency For the Control of Aids (NACA).
Presenting the award to the Director General at the headquarters of NACA , the chair of the award committee Bishop Abel King explained that the commitment of the management of NACA has laid the solid foundation for the success achieved in a short period the new DG assumed duty.
According to him, the new DG building on the foundation that has been laid has taken awareness of the virus to the door step of every Nigerian.
“Today, the awareness that has been created as well as the pragmatic policies put in place by the new management of NACA, management of the the disease has become very efficient. It is in view of this development that we find it expedient to encourage the DG to remain focused in discharging his responsibilities,” Bishop King noted.
Speaking in the same vein during the presentation, Mr. Solomon Semaka who represents the International Human Rights Commission further emphasized the need for the rights of persons living with the virus and other communicable diseases to be respected.
Responding, the Director General, Dr Gambo Gumel Aliyu briefed the delegation on the existing policies of the agency to curb the spread of HIV and AIDS through awareness.

He further expressed readiness to partner with the clergy and other stakeholders to ensure that the needed results are achieved.
During the presentation, all the management staff were present and expressed joy over the award.
