The Sarkin Gurku, Alhaji Usman Adamu Mani, has called for unity and peace among different tribes in Nigeria, adding that with love and unity the country will overcome most of the challenges bedeviling it.
Mani who spoke to Apex News Exclusive in Abuja on independence day celebration stated that, for some times now the Nigeria is going through some form of tribal/religious sentiments which is gradually bringing about hatred, such that, if not checked, it will degenerate into a full brown animosity which will threaten national cohesion.
Alh Mani, explained that as a country, Nigeria will do little in the face disunity and parochial sentiments because development will not take place in such atmosphere. He warned that if not control the hatred will degenerate into physical tribal wars that will led to disunity among the people as some section of the tribes are already calling for separation.
“I am telling you that there is no where that you cannot find a particular tribe any where you go in Nigeria be it Hausa or Fulani or Igbo and Yoruba. But if we allow this situation to degenerate, one will be afraid to travel to far places or villages which is bad,” he stated.
He called on government to come up with a strategy that will endear Nigerians into unity of purpose, so that, the 61 years of independence will be a blessing to all the citizens as they continue to live in peace.
He equally called on all religious groups and leaders in the country to preach love and peace as no religion preaches violence or allow hatred on one another, so that there will be meaningful progress and development in Nigeria.
He commended President Muhammadu Buhari and Engr. AA Sule, Executive Governor of Nasarawa State for the magnificent leadership styles and development feat so far. He also prayed for continues God’s guidance of leaders in Nigeria at different levels.
