Nigeria government approves welfare for drug agency workers who died in active service- Buba Marwa

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved welfare package for the staff of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) who died in active serves since 2015, the chairman Brigadier General Buba Marwa (rtd) has said.
Federal Government also says plans have been concluded to establish offices in 774 LGAs in Nigeria to fight against drugs abuse from the
grassroots in the country, the chairman,.
Marwa disclosed this during a session with journalists in Yola, saying that the Buhari’s led administration is willing to comprehensively
address the menace in the country.
He accordingly said, ‘’in order to enhance service delivery, the president has also approved a welfare package for the staff of the organization noting that the benefits of workers who died in active serves since 2015 will be settled very soon.
“The president has approved and by the grace of God, we are going to start the process of paying all the liabilities to the next-of-kins and families of our staff who died in active service in the last six years from 2015. President has granted that approval,” he emphasized.
The NDLEA boss noted that from January to date, NDLEA was able to secure no fewer than 500 convictions and has seized about 2 million
kilograms of various illicit substances worth about N100 billion, adding that the feat has greatly assisted the ongoing war against
crime and criminality in the country.
Marwa however thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for his resolve and
commitment towards tackling the age-long menace, where a lot has been achieved in the war against illicit drugs with the steadfast support of the presidency.
Marwa noted that from January to date,
