Nigeria Government says the road contract of N29billion awarded to A.G Vision may soon be revoked following its snail movement.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha stated this during his visit to Mubi to commiserate with the family of Rev. Daniel Umaru of Eklisiyyan Yan’uwa a Nigeria otherwise called the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria (EYN).
On the road contract which he felt was moving slowly, Boss ordered the contractors handling the Yola to Mubi road to either go back to site or have the contract revoked.
He said, “The contract was awarded to A.G. Vision for the sum of N22 billion in 2017 and was reviewed to N29 Billion but the work has progressed in a snail speed which has irked the Federal Government.
The SGF noted that, the NNPC will inject funds into the projects because of its strategic importance as it leads Adamawa and Borno State.
Also speaking, the Minister of Transportation, Muazu Sambo Aji told the contractor the company is exhibiting incompetence.
The site Engineer, Francis Musa said work had stopped due to the Sallah break while it will be completed on schedule as funds are made available.
Similarly, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha also took a visit to the Ekklisiyan Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN) in Mubi, Adamawa State to condole with the family of Reverend Daniel Umaru whose two sons were killed by terrorists last week.
Reverend Umaru was shot and is undergoing medication at the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital.
Also, the Reverend’s 13 years old daughter was kidnapped. The Reverends wife is highly traumatized and is on admission in the hospital.
However, the 13-year-old girl is been reunited with the family that until a huge amount ransom was paid for her release by the church.
Our correspondent reports that the two sons were buried last Friday.
The SGF told the family members that government was eager at ending terrorism and violent crimes in the country.
