Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency explores collaboration with Norway

The Director General of the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA), Umar Ibrahim Mohammed, along with his team, paid a courtesy visit to the Norwegian Ambassador to Nigeria, H.E Svein Breae, at the Norwegian Embassy in Abuja.

The visit aimed to introduce NIHSA to the embassy, exchange ideas, and explore opportunities for collaboration. The Director General and Director Hydrogeophysics Department provided an overview of NIHSA’s mandate and activities.

H.E Svein Breae and Kristin T Waeringsaasen, Minister Counselor/Deputy Head of Mission, expressed gratitude for the visit and emphasized the importance of water management.

They pledged Norway’s support for collaboration on capacity building and early warning systems.

This potential partnership aligns with NIHSA’s goals to enhance its capabilities in flood management, water resources development, and hydrological services. The agency is committed to promoting sustainable water management practices in Nigeria.
