A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Chief Ben Uzuegbu says the country’s political leaders no longer believe in resucisitatiing the battered economic, political and social structure of the country called Nigeria.
Chief Uzuegbu made this known to newsmen in Onitsha recently that none of the Nation’s political leaders has solutions to mirage of challenges facing the Nation and has lost every hope and political will to redeem it.
He said that politicians were only jostling to have a fair share of the National cake before Nigeria collapses and hence were not interested in revitalising the country.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria noted that actions of politicians in the country were enough testimony that the leaders were no longer interested in the country, but what comes out from it.
Chief Uzuegbu queried why the children of the Nation’s political leaders are no longer found in the Nation’s higher institutions, but are sent abroad to acquire education while local education system is left to rot.
”Children of these politicians are no longer found in local universities, but are all abroad where the system is working and that is why we can never have it good in this country with what is happening.”
The outspoken lawyer stated that what the country has been able to produce in recent years are mere hypocrites struggling for political power.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria accused the National Assembly members for taking Nigerians for granted by purchasing Land Cruiser Jeeps worth over N160,000,000 for each of the lawmaker in a country where the citizens are merely struggling to survive.
According to him, each of the SUV car barely costs between N60m and N70m in the market and wondered why the leaders even decided to inflate the vehicle prices.
The Outspoken Lawyer stated that this was a sure means of telling Nigerians that they are worthless and not a part of the system and asked the citizens not to expect any good news from Nigerian government as politicians have no solutions to various challenges facing the Nation.
”To be candid our leaders no longer believe in Nigeria. They see the country as a failed state awaiting collapse. But noone wants to salvage Nigeria. They want it to sink further to a stage where it will very difficult to save from collapse.
”That’s why the leaders keep borrowing loans without anything to show from the loans. Those recovered from Abacha and other Politicians are stolen under public glare. They have all lost faith and interest in Nigeria,” Chief Uzuegbu stated.
