Nigeria to host maiden International airshow next year- Aviation Minister Keyamo

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Hon Festus Keyamo, SAN, has disclosed that preparation is being concluded for Nigeria to host the maiden Nigeria International Airshow in the first quarter of 2025.

He made the disclosure in a press briefing in his office in Abuja, that the event is being organized between his ministry and a private partner, CEO of Nigeria International Airshow, Bria Okonkwo.

According to him, “The Nigeria International Airshow will feature a variety of events aimed at showcasing Nigeria’s aviation ecosystem and tourism.

“Planned activities includes aerial displays with exciting flight demonstrations by various aircrafts, showcasing advanced aviation technology. Provision of exhibitions booths and displays from aviation companies, manufacturers, and tourism operators highlighting Nigeria’s capabilities.

“Workshops and Seminars: Educational sessions focusing on aviation trends, innovations, and tourism promotion. Networking Events as opportunities for stakeholders, industry leaders, and investors to connect and discuss potential collaborations.” He said.

Hon Keyamo said that cultural performances showcasing Nigeria’s rich culture through performances and presentations to promote tourism. Keynote Speeches and remarks from industry experts and policymakers regarding the future of aviation and tourism in Nigeria.

The Minister said that, static aircraft displays will provide an opportunity for attendees to explore and learn about various aircraft up close.

Hon Keyamo said that the airshow will be a significant platform to promote Nigeria’s aviation industry and tourism potential to a global audience.

In her remarks, the CEO of Nigeria International Airshow, Bria Okonkwo said that she partner with the Ministry of Aviation to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and boost Nigeria’s aviation sector in particular and the economy in general.

She said that her team will not relent in the growth and development of Nigeria in Africa and the World.
