The Nigeria Young Parliamentarian Organisation has appealed to Nigerians to seek dialogue with leaders rather than being co-opted into protest by faceless group.

This was contained in a statement by the National Chairman of the group, Dr Kassim Muhammad to newsmen on Sunday in Lafia.

Dr Muhammad acknowledged that fact that Nigerians have the right to protest bad governance and unpopular policy of Government, however, said such rights should exercise with caution.

Muhammad while enjoining Nigerian youths to sheathe their planned protest, said President Bola Tinubu has since been engaging various stakeholders with a view to addressing the challenges facing the country.

The statement read in parts, “It is our right to protest when things have gone wrong, but when the authorities concerned are ready to listen and make amends, we should equally step down our anger.

“When the protest is hijacked and turns to the destruction of lives and property, we will be bringing ourselves backward instead of forward as we desire.

“I urge our peace-loving Nigerian youths to engage in dialogue and respect our leaders. Say no to faceless protest planning committee as no one will stand for you when things are out of control.

” We must also be grateful to the President, knowing fully well that his administration is youth-friendly and holds better hopes ahead.

“We intend to organize a National Youth Meeting, as was done after the EndSARS protest in Abuja, for a proper articulation of our concerns.

He urged the two ministers of youth to rise to the occasion for a better Nigeria.
