Nigerian Christian pilgrims celebrate Nigeria’s 65th independence anniversary in Israel

Nigerian Christian pilgrims gathered in Nazareth and Bethlehem, Israel, to mark Nigeria’s 65th independence anniversary.

The pilgrims, comprising Imo, Abia, and Adamawa states, as well as Consulars, held prayer sessions and celebrations to commemorate this milestone.

This was contained in a statement by NCPC Deputy Director and Head, Media and Public Relations, Celestine Toruka.

In Nazareth, the pilgrims prayed for Nigeria’s unity, economic growth, and divine guidance for leaders, including President Bola Tinubu and state governors. Rt. Rev. Dr. Manasses Okere, Anglican Bishop of Ukwa Diocese, emphasized the importance of unity in building a great nation, citing Psalm 133:1.

In Bethlehem, the pilgrims celebrated with a cake-cutting ceremony and joyful renditions. The third batch of pilgrims arrived in Bethlehem to continue their pilgrimage program.

The Nigerian Christian pilgrims’ celebration underscores the significance of faith and unity in the country’s journey.
