Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed has been conferred with honorary fellowship of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
The honor was done to the Governor by the national body of the Institute during a ceremony held .at the Banquet Hall of the Government House on Friday at the end of the NIPR annual General meeting held in Bauchi just as the Institute also inaugurated the Governor as the Grand Patrons for Nigerian Institute of Public Relations in Bauchi state.
In his acceptance speech after the conferment, the Governor thanked NIPR for finding him suitable for conferment of the fellowship of the Institute.
Bala Mohammed added that, “the conferment of the fellowship and my investiture as a patron of the institute in Bauchi state is an acknowledgement and appreciation of his modest contribution to the development of the state” .
The Governor also said that it will motivate him to further put his best in the service of the state by working towards taking Bauchi to the next level of development.
Bala Mohammed who said that the Institute can play roles in the socioeconomic development of Bauchi state and Nigeria in general, called on the institute to use it expertise to disabuse the minds of members of the International community against their negative perception of Nigeria.
The Governor described NIPR as partners in progress and pledged that, his administration will work with them to achieve the desired objectives.
The National President, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Muktar Zubairu Sirajo said that the honour done to Governor Bala was in recognition of his outstanding performances in the management of Bauchi state.
The President appealed to the Governor to reciprocate the gesture by continue working towards the total development of the Institute.
Muktar Sirajo congratulated Governor Bala for the well deserved honour and promised that NIPR will assist and support him to succeed.
Governor Bala was accompanied by the State first lady, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, Deputy Governor, Senator Baba Tela, Speaker of BAHA, Rt Honorable Abubakar Y Suleiman among others.
