Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association to hold its Congress in Taraba

The Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA) is to hold it National congress and Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Taraba.

Dr Tafarki Agbadu, Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) made this known on Friday while briefing Journalists in Jalingo.

Agbadu, who said that over 700 participants were expected in the state explained that the event would hold between Oct. 28 and Oct. 31.

He disclosed that the choice of Taraba to host the event by the National Executive Council (NEC) was in its recognition of the state’s immense potentials and critical role in the nation’s agricultural and public health landscape.

The chairman also said that Veterinary Surgeons, researchers, policy makers, livestock producers and pharmaceutical company representatives were expected to participate in the event.

Agbadu said that the event would expose the local veterinary professionals, students and agricultural stakeholders to having unparalleled access to national and international expertise, research findings and innovations without travelling outside the state.

He commended Gov Agbu Kefas of Taraba for approving the hosting Right for the association as well as providing resources and logistics for the hosting of the conference.

He assured the delegates of adequate security arrangement by security agencies in the state.

Agbadu appealed to residents of the state to accord the prospective guests utmost hospitality.
