Senator Godswill Akpabio

The choice of Senator Godswill Akpabio for the position of the 10th Senate President by the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has been described by Dr. Nsikak Eka is a patriotic move that will further engender genuine unity in the country.
He made his position known in a media chat with reporters in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
Dr. Nsikak Eka said those uncomfortable with Akpabio’s choice only do so to confuse Nigerians.
The former aspirant for the position of the House of Representatives from Akwa Ibom State said this even as the Vice President-Elect, Senator Kashim Shettima, had explained the rationale behind the decision, which was chiefly, among other things, to avoid a situation whereby, “the number one citizen, number two citizen, the number three citizen and the number four citizen are all of the same faith.”
Dr. Eka, who aspired for the position of Member of Itu / Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency in Akwa Ibom State under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said, “with careful observations,” Asiwaju Bola Tinubu did not make a mistake for settling for Akpabio to balance the political equation of the country based on the religious and geopolitical entity.
According to him, the former governor and chairman of the NDDC has “an unrivaled track record” that has placed him in the proper position to keep contributing positively to national unity and development.
The former aspirant, who for over three decades has been part and parcel of the people of his state, is an enabler of her proper custodian and is in a better position to confirm the credentials of the person of Senator Akpabio.
Laying credence to his view on a modern-driven system that will stimulate the push for change and drive an all-inclusive administration that will create a meaningful impact on the people, he advised Nigerians to support the incoming administration because, according to him, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
He further pointed out that one of Britain’s greatest patriots and Prime Minister Winston Churchill, once postulated that; “if you can not listen to understand your people, then you can’t solve the simple problems that matter to them.” The choice of Akpabio by the President-Elect and the APC has the traits to birth an administration that will foster all that is necessary to meet the demands of the people of Nigeria.
He admonished Nigerians that; “As the President of the 10th Senate, Akpabio is distinctly separated from the pack as it relates to a proactive and empirical analysis of the situation in both tactical and strategical endpoint, where at client engagement, situation looks hopeless. With the current situation staring the country in the face, he can conveniently remedy the situation and excellently defying all conventional strategy, as indicated by his records. “
Nigeria must walk, and all hands should be on deck to move her forward. The ongoing detractors don’t mean well for her. Nigerians must carry their destiny to support Tinubu and the other principals to succeed, Eka warned.
It is recalled earlier that the Vice President-Elect had met with some elected members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and explained that his principal Tinubu and the APC picked Mr. Akpabio from the (South-South) as the preferred Senate President to balance the power equation and carry Nigerians along, religious wise.
