Nigeria’s National Assembly distances self from Cross River finance NGOs

The National Assembly has formally communicated with the Cross River State government, distancing itself from certain organisations in the state which claims to collate finances and processing of personal data of Nigerian citizens and residents in the state.
Clerk of the Assembly, Ojo Olatunde Amos wrote to notify the state government that they are in no association with Royal Gate International Limited, Centre For Leadership Perspective, Nigeria Leadership Encyclopedia project as well as their affiliates.
Ojo said activities of the organizations were inimical to the citizens and their image.
“Consequently, the National Assembly will not accept any liability for any act of infringement on the privacy of any individual, corporate entities, state governments by the organizations mentioned above.”
Reacting, in a letter dated 19 April 2021 secretary to the state government, Tina Agbor warned members of the public residing in the State against falling prey to these organisations.
