Wikki Tourists Technical Adviser Azeez Audu Mohammed speaks to the media after the match

Owolabi Aremu was the hero of Wikki Tourists FC, Bauchi as his brace knocked visiting Nasarawa United FC, Lafia in the ongoing 23/24 NNL season.

Ten minutes into the game that involve two familiar opponents Owolabi got a penalty and converted the kick after he was  brought down in the box by Nasarawa United defence putting the Tourists on the driver’s seat. 

Pressure continue to be mounted on Nasarawa United till the dying minutes of the first half when Owolabi Aremu in a  pressing effort scored the second goal when Nasarawa United ‘s goalkeeper failed to grab Muhammed Guda’s powerful strike ending the first half 2-0 in favour of the Tourists. 

On resumption into the second half Nasarawa United became aggressive  just like wounded lions and their effort paid in the 72 minutes when Chinedu Ohonachom sneaked behind Wikki Tourists defence and headed home a free kick for  the consolation goal to his team.

The game became tension soaked as it entered the dying moments with both teams piling pressure on each other but no positive result came as the time tickle out with Wikki Tourists having the day 2-1 it ended. 

Wikki Tourists Technical Adviser Azeez Audu Mohammed said that the result was okay and promised to continue working hard to get more good results in the remaining games until the team gets the desired target. 

“I want to commend my players for doing a good job and I believe we will do better next, said Azeez,” he said.

Wikki Tourists next match will be against NAF FC in Abuja on 06/01/2024 as the league is set to go on break.
