Northern youth group commends Tantita Security Services over war against oil theft

Northern Youths Progressive Network has commended Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd (TSSNL) for it enormous contribution in securing the nation’s oil and gas assets and resources in the Niger Delta region.

This is contained in a statement by Comrade Bala Mohammed, Convener, Northern Youths Progressives Network on Tuesday in Lafia.

The group expressed satisfaction with gains made in the areas of arrest and bursting of criminal hideouts of crude oil thieves in the creeks of the oil rich region along side many other remarkable feats recorded in the past.

The group said it was impressed with the joint operations carried out by the Ondo State chapter of TSSNL in collaboration with the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Sunday morning where oil cartel were engaged in shootout.

The statement said the operation at the criminal camp along Alowe sea shore in Ilaje Local Government Area led to the destruction of 700 kegs containing 21,000 litres of crude oil stored in a large reservoir.

“This remarkable success has no doubt consolidated on similar feats so far this year such as the recent arrest of MT Kali and Herbert spirit vessels between January and February, 2024.

“Tantita has no doubt demonstrated capacity in the discharge of its mandate of securing our national assets in the oil and gas sector thus boosting the nation’s economy through enhanced oil revenue.

The group called on the Federal Government to develop genuine political will to complement TSSNL
by arresting and prosecute economic saboteurs who are head bent on destroying our common patrimony.

“We are quite optimistic that the Federal Government through the NNPCL did not make a mistake in engaging Tompolo’s Tantita Security company because the deal is gradually but steadily restoring sanity to the nation’s oil and gas sector.

“We also wish to commend the personnel of NSCDC for their selfless service in protecting national assets without bias and corruption, forging a strong partnership with Tantita to achieve this remarkable results.

We urged other security agencies operating in the oil rich region to emulate the duo in order to make Nigeria a safe environment for all kinds of businesses to thrive,” the statement read in parts.
