Having won his reelection bid for a second term as Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed has been advised to have a forgiven spirit and draw everybody closer for a better Bauchi State.
The advice was given by the Catholic Bishop of Bauchi Diocese, Rev Hillary Dachelem while speaking at special Ramadan fast breaking with the Christian community at the Government House on Thursday.
He said that, “Now, you have won the election, God has vindicated you, you have defeated a very stiff opposition. What next to do, is to draw everyone together, you are the leader over everyone in the state.”
Hillary Dachelem added that, “No matter who the people are, PDP, LP, PRP, NNPP, ZLP, whatever, you are the father to all, as a father therefore, you should stretch your hands and draw all to you. Nothing is wrong if you take the step of reconciliation.”
The Catholic Bishop further charged the Governor to continue with the good works he began from his first tenure which is ending in May 2023 stressing that what the people deserve is work, more work and much more work.
He assured the Governor that the Christian community in the state will continue to pray for him to succeed in the onerous task ahead of him as the leader of the people of the state.
The Clergyman commended the Governor for promoting peace and peaceful co-existence among the people of the state because he has always ensured justice, equity and fairness to all.
He concluded by charging the Governor to continue with the cordial relationship with all manner of people in the State irrespective of ethno-religious and political affiliation.
