NSCDC apprehends suspected kidnapper, fake medical doctor in Bauchi

A suspected kidnapper, Muhammad Sani Rinji and a fake medical doctor, Usman Sadique Yelwa have been arrested by Bauchi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The disclosure was made by Commandant Ilelaboye W. Oyejide while briefing journalists at the Command Headquarters on the security situation in Bauchi state.
According to him, due intense security operation, kidnappers/bandits are now on the run in their enclaves at different locations especially within Lame and other forests in Toro LGA.
The Commandant stressed that, “However, the Corps intensified efforts in its patrol and surveillance and luck run out of one the suspected kidnappers by name Muhammad Sani Rinji on 15/10/2023.”
Oyejide added that, “The suspect was arrested by our Officers working with Nasarawa State Command in Lafia, based on credible intelligence information.”
He further said that, “During interrogation, the suspect agreed to all the allegations that they were responsible for the series of Kidnapping and armed robbery activities in Toro LGA and beyond. He gave a vivid account of his involvement in the kidnapping business.”
Also, a suspected fake medical doctor by name Usman Sadique Yelwa, working with the State Government General Hospital, Misau, was arrested based on credible intelligence and he is helping the Corps in its investigation.
Meanwhile, the two suspects have been charged to Court for the established offences for prosecution accordingly.
The Commandant said that, “It is worthy to note that, the milestone recorded by the Command would be attributed to the strategic review of the Command’s operations through a robust change in the operation of our Divisions and other sister security agencies and through intelligence partnership.”
“Distinguished members of the press, the Command will not shy away from its constitutional mandate of protecting the lives and property of citizens in the State,” he assured.
Oyejide said, “Finally, the Command is taking proactive measures through robust partnership with critical stakeholders in the State. However, I want to reiterate that all complaints should be reported to our Command Headquarters or the nearest Division in the 20 LGA in the State respectively.”
