Nwosu asks continuing education learners to participate in Anambra ‘Teaching On Air’ programme

Unit Heads and facilitators of Adult Learners in Anambra State have been directed to create more awareness on the importance of the Anambra Teaching on Air programme and ensure that both Basic and Continuing Education Learners are fully participating in the learning process till school reopen.
The Acting Executive Secretary and Director Agency for Mass Literacy Adult and Non-formal Education, Mr. Donatus Nwosu gave the directive during a meeting of all the Staff and Unit heads of the Agency at the Agencies Vocational Centre in Awka.
Mr. Nwosu commended the Commissioner for Basic Education, Professor Kate Omenugha on her well thought out plan on Teaching on Air Programme going on in the State, via the State Television and Radio.
He described Professor Omenugha as a pace setter in all educational programmes, which according to him is why Anambra State is always taking the lead in all the ratings across the Nation and beyond in various academic excellence.
The Acting Director gave thanks to the government of Anambra State for their invaluable support on the ongoing programme, to ensure that school children did not miss out academically.
He also commended the leadership of station who is making sure that the teaching is being aired at appropriate time.
Mr. Nwosu also expressed gratitude to Governor Willie Obiano for his effort to stop Inter State travelling, through tightening of the security at the State boundaries.
The Acting Director commended the way and manner the staff of the State Agency for Mass Literacy, Awka is observing the social distance and proper wearing of protective face mask and advised them to keep maintaining social distance and to always put on the face masks in and outside the office as this is now compulsory in Anambra State, in addition to engaging in regular hand washing and use of hand sanitizers.
The Deputy Director of the Agency, Mrs. Uju Orakwe thanked the acting Executive Director for the meeting and assured of their readiness to observe strict personal hygiene protocols before and during office hours and continue to pray to God for the end of the coronavirus pandemic.
