Following a major political realignment at the expanded stakeholders’ meeting of Delta State Obidients held in Warri over the weekend, members of the movement were collectively urged to formally identify with and register as members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The party was widely described at the meeting as a credible and progressive platform capable of rescuing Nigeria from poor leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In line with this resolution, Dr. Augustine Isikwei Ojogbo, a leading figure of the Obidients movement in Aniocha North Local Government Area and former Labour Party chairmanship candidate, has officially joined the ADC. He completed his registration on Saturday and was presented with his membership card by the Chairman of Ward 8, Aniocha North Local Government Area, Mr. Barry Ofili.

Speaking after the registration exercise at his country home, Dr. Ojogbo, who formally resigned from the Labour Party in early July 2025, expressed satisfaction with his decision to align with the ADC.

He described the party as a people-oriented and viable political platform through which he intends to further his long standing commitment to grassroots development and effective governance in Aniocha North.

Dr. Ojogbo reaffirmed that his political engagement remains rooted in service, accountability, compassion, and the quest for a better Nigeria.

He called on his supporters and well-wishers to continue spreading the message of hope and national renewal, reiterating his confidence in the emergence of a new Nigeria under the purposeful leadership of Mr. Peter Obi in 2027.

Highlighting his vision for Aniocha North, Dr. Ojogbo noted that the local government area is in urgent need of strong, visible, and effective representation at the Delta State House of Assembly.

He disclosed that he is seriously considering contesting to represent Aniocha North Constituency in the State House of Assembly, should circumstances permit.

In a show of solidarity, friends, political associates, and supporters present at the interaction unanimously pledged their unwavering support for Dr. Ojogbo’s future political aspirations, describing him as a credible grassroots mobilizer with the capacity and vision to deliver meaningful representation for the people of Aniocha North.
