Old Boys, NUJ pull resources to treat ailing journalist

Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), in Cross River State and the Mary Knoll College Old Boys Association have joined forces to foot the medical bills of Mr Francis Ogar.
Mr Ogar, a veteran journalist in Cross River State, has had a deteriorating illness over the years.
The Mary Knoll Old Boys Association Class, which Ogar is a member, has taken responsibility of the pressman’s medical treatment.
When members of NUJ called on President of Mary Knoll Old Boys Association, Dr. Ador Leku, on 22nd December, 2024, Chairman, Comrade Archibong Bassey, thanked the association for rising to the occasion.
She presented N100,000 to the Mary Knoll Old Boys Association to support Ogar ‘s bills.
Dr. Leku narrated the saddening story of Ogar’s health expressed happiness for the support from NUJ, appealing that it should not be a one-off action.
“Our Association is grateful for your visit and support. But we appeal that as Ogar is one of you, let this support not be a one time concern.
“We need you to always have Ogar in mind for further support”, he pleaded.
Both bodies appeal to the state government and public spirited individuals to remember the good services Ogar rendered to the public in his active days, and help him.
