The spiritual leader of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu has consecrated more than 3000 high priests to mark this year’s Easter celebration.
At an elaborate Easter festival, he personally anointed 1247 new Bishops as well as 1800 female high priests, called Blessed Mothers of the New Kingdom of God.
The historic event held inside the world headquarters of the fold in Calabar on Saturday 3rd April 2021.
Olumba had before the formal Consecration personally washed the feets of the high priests the previous day, being Good
The new Bishops and Blessed Mothers were selected from across the formations of the fold in many countries in Africa, Europe and the Americas.
To be eligible for the consecration, the Bishops had embarked on seven nations or 21 States in Nigeria Episcopal Tour as well as different priestly orientations.
It would be recalled that the spiritual leader who is reverred as the King of kings and Lord of lords by his faithful had in 2015 consecrated what was the largest when he anointed 250 Bishops.
The Dean of the College of Bishops, Christ Shepherd Bassey Imowo said it was the first time in Christian religious history that such a massive ordination would be carried out by a single spiritual movement.
He said some of the new priests, including the female priests would be posted to local and foreign outposts of the organization as station priests while others would handle administrative and evangelical duties.
Earlier, the two groups took oath of allegiance to devote total attention, service and loyalty to God.
In his message of blessing at the end of the ten hour long exercise after the anointing and feasting, Olumba Obu exhorted the new new high priests to exhibit exemplary characteristics, to the extent that many would emulate them.
“You are to live above aboard in all your characteristics, attitude and carriage. You are to lead the flock. You must speak the truth in humility. Your behaviour and utterances should unite the church and society. Pray always for blessings and unity and advancement of peace.”
The spiritual leader further prayed for peace in the world, urging religious and political leaders to desist from inciting commentary and abating vicious tendencies.
The spiritual Organization was established in 1956 and has grown with membership of over 3m membership in many countries.
